Neutered : No - he will need to be when old enough

Info:
Poor Nigel so needs his own home he has been in kennels for month, over 1/2 his life. He has come on so much in kennels but needs someone to understand him and train him. He is going to make someone a wonderful companion if you have the time and patience to give him what he needs. He was an unclaimed stray and in his short life had not seen the good side of humans so has a couple of issues that just need working on with time, patience and a good knowledge of training young pups and with mastiff experience.
He was assessed by Adam the behaviourist some time ago and this is what he had to say here is what he has to say.:
-
Nigel needs a stable home with someone who is willing to put the time into training him and helping him with his fears.
-
He learns very quickly so won’t take him long.
-
He reacts to raised voices and we are sure he’s been beaten.
-
Nigel is very willing to work and is very food driven which helps.
With time and love and training he will definitely make someone an amazing companion.
Due to his sensitive nature and size he will need a home without children and other animals. Someone who has experience with mastiffs and are willing to put the time, effort, patience and training into helping this young pup for his future.
Adam the behaviourist has said if your local and need guidance he is there to help too.
If you'd like to offer Nigel a forever home, please fill in our online application form.
Home check and adoption fee apply. He will need to be neutered when old enough, proof will be required. This will be in the adoption contract.

We are looking for a loving home for this older lady so she can experience warmth and comfort and perhaps a sofa to call her own. She is used to living and being outdoors so looking for a family with a garden where she can spend time if she wants.

-
Kind with other people and children according to the family.

She has not been vaccinationed since initial ones but is microchipped.

Mort
Sex: Male
Age: 6/7 years
Breed: Terrier Cross
Dog Friendly : Yes
Cat Friendly: No
Kids : No
Neutered : Will be
Vaccinations: Will be
Info:
Mort came to us a scared and unsocial lad and went straight into foster with Julia and Mei. We were told he was not good around other dogs and snappy at people but with Julia, Mei and their amazing pack he’s come on on leaps and bounds.
This is his write up from his foster mum.
Mort is a very special terrier. He is looking for a very special home. He will need somebody who understands terriers and is an experienced dog owner. No children or small furries.
We will never know what has happened in Mort's past, however a very frightened dog arrived into foster. He has lived with our dogs, who, have had to teach him how to be a dog. He can still get this wrong, but our dogs have been patient.
He is a dog you let come to you when he is ready. Going straight in to pick up and cuddle would scare him.
He is brilliant to walk on a lead and enjoys adventures up in the hills near where we live. He does not have a consistent recall...yet. Mort would be best living in a calm home with other dogs, who can help him move forward into a lovely life that he so needs.
The person who is lucky enough to adopt Mort, will have a cheeky, naughty, most loyal and brave pet, so long as they are prepared to be patient and give him time.
He will sleep on your lap but if you suddenly wake him up he gets a fright and can turn and snap. Not meaning to hurt anyone just gets a fright. As they say ‘let sleeping dogs lie’.
if you can offer Mort the love and comfort he deserves then please fill in our online application form.
Home check and adoption fee apply.
He will b vaccinated, microchipped and flea and worm treated and neutered.
Lifetime rescue backup. Can rehome U.K. wide.
Kyla
Sex: Female
Age: 1 years
Breed: American Akita
Dog Friendly : Yes
Cat Friendly: No
Kids : Older
Neutered : Yes
Vaccinations: Yes
Info:
Meet Kyla. 1 year old American Akita.
Kyla came in after serving her 7 days as a stray. As she was unclaimed she had gone on to the list for pts. Kyla is struggling in the kennel environment and desperately needs a foster or forever home. We cannot believe she has not had one suitable application - she is an amazing girl and someone will be very lucky to have her in their life
She’s very playful and knows basic commands like sit and paw. She does jump up at you in excitement so her new owners will need to put in place some training.
She loves food so easy to work with. Pulls a little on lead but with correction is getting better and would be better in a harness. She’s ok with other dogs just wants to bounce on them. She’s better with male dogs so will have to be introduced slowly to a new play mate.
She loves going on walks and has been out with one of our volunteers and was an absolute gem. Great in the car - good on the lead, could make a good canicross companion.
Clean in her kennel so obviously been in a home environment.
The ideal home for Kyla would be and active one, good knowledge and owned Akitas before, older children as she is so bouncy and could knock smaller ones over. A home with a resident male dog may be okay or her as the only dog. Your male dog must be neutered. No cats or small furries.
An owner willing to give her the time and patience to teach her and give her plenty of tlc. She will make someone an amazing companion.
If you'd like to offer Kyla a forever home, please fill in our online application form.
Home check and adoption fee apply.
Lifetime rescue backup. And can rehome U.K. wide.

Oakley
Sex: Female
Age: 1 year
Breed: Bulldog X
Dog Friendly : Yes - but only dog in the home
Cat Friendly: No
Kids : Yes older
Neutered : No - will need to be when old enough
Vaccinations: Yes
Info:
Oakley is a one year old bulldog cross possibly boxer. She came in as a unclaimed stray in a horrendous emaciated condition. She was scheduled to be PTS which we could not let happen. She immediately went into foster care and has received tons of TLC - and good regular meals and is now back to full health. She looks amazing and is ready to find her own furever home.
She has been in foster so is learning all she needs to know. She’s good with other dogs but can be a little over zealous so we feel she would be best as the only dog in the home.
She could live with children over 8 as she may knock smaller ones over in play or excitement.
No cats or small furries.
This is what her foster mum has to say about her:
Oakley is a loveable girl. She loves her cuddles and thinks she is a lap dog. She needs a home with someone around most of the day as she is still a puppy. She has had a terrible start to life but is so loving. She will need puppy training as she has not had any to-date other than basic training in her foster home.
Whoever has her must carry on the house training she is learning slowly but will need time and patience.
Her diet must be adhered to until she is at the right weight. She eats her food quickly (not surprisingly) but is getting better and you can look at using slow feeder bowls etc to help with this. More information and advise will be provided.
When in a car she has to wear a harness with a dog seat belt.
All she needs is patience, love and guidance. Oakley is a absolute joy to be with. She needs someone who is willing to train her and spend time with her - she is a cracking little dog who will make someone an amazing companion.
If you'd like to offer Oakley a forever home, please fill in our online application form. Please answer every question in full and what we ask for otherwise your application will be deleted straight away.
Home check and adoption fee apply. She is vaccinated, microchipped and flea and worm treated.
She will need neutering once old enough and 3 months after her first season this is Non negotiable
Lifetime rescue backup. And can rehome U.K. wide.

Age: 2 years
Breed: Cocker Spaniel
Dog Friendly : Yes
Cat Friendly: With careful introductions and dog savvy cat
Kids : Yes older
Neutered : No - will need to be when old enough
Vaccinations: Will be
Info:
Meet new girl Willow. Willow is a roughly 2 year old cocker spaniel. She’s come into our care from the pound after doing her 7 days. She has been badly neglected and was in a terrible condition. A true heartbreaker.
Willow has been in foster with several other dogs and has adjusted really well. She just needs an active family who can give her the training and care she deserves.
Her foster mum has this to say about her.
Willow is just lovely. Walks well on a lead . Perfect with sheep. Will chase the hens, but not in a prey kind of way, she just wants to see them up close. No recall!! Needs a bit of training. Very gentle lap dog. Will guard you from the other dogs, but our dogs just ignore her, a more reactive dog might not.
Will jump on any and all furniture and will steal. She is a good climber so need a secure garden. The climbing tends to happen when we are on the yard and she wants to be with us. She wants to be with her humans.
Everybody she meets falls in love with her. She will chase the cat, which is very dog savvy.
So an active home with another dog. Older children and no cats or small furries.

Millie - RESERVED
Sex: Female
Age: 11 months
Breed: Boxer
Dog Friendly : Yes
Cat Friendly: Not tested
Kids : Yes older
Neutered : No - will need to be when old enough
Vaccinations: Yes
Info:
Meet new girl Millie. Millie is an 11 month old tiny Boxer girl. She’s come into our care as the resident older dog didn’t take to her high energy. Her owner realised the situation was too much and reached out for help.
Her previous owner says :-
Although a lovely, loving family dog who is great with children (we have a toddler), other dogs and people in general she was too much for our older bulldog. He became very possessive of toys and fights started to happen.
She adapts really well - having had caravan holidays and loving them. Great with my toddler grandson who adores her.
She is very affectionate and likes to be close to 'her person'
She's a typical young boxer pup - full of life, in to everything, nervous initially with new situations but soon adjusts.
Mille went straight into foster with several other dogs and has adjusted really well with no issues. She just needs an active family who can give her the training and care she deserves.
Millie can live with children 5 and over and other dogs. We don’t know what she would be like with cats or small furries so could possibly live with dog savvy cats but will need slow introduction.
Home check and adoption fee apply. She is vaccinated, microchipped and flea and worm treated.
She will need neutering once old enough and 3 months after her first season this is Non negotiable
Lifetime rescue backup. And can rehome U.K. wide.
