No cats or small furries. Timid gentle boy. No children under 14.  Paddy is in a foster home and loves his creature comforts. He needs people around most of the day and would love to have a friendly dog to share a sofa and cuddles with. Paddy wants to be with you so needs to be allowed to sleep on his bed in your bedroom and have full run of a house.

Info:

Sensitive sole Reggie is still looking for his forever home. He’s now been with us nearly a year without a sensible offer of a home. He hasn’t had the best start in life and is very distrusting of people. We’ve been working with him to help him trust more and with time he’s getting there. New owners must have large breed/Rottweiler experience and will have to be fully committed and willing to give him the time and patience for him to trust them. They must also be willing to meet him many times before adoption so Reggie gets to know you and start to build a bond.

He can only be handled with a slip lead initially due to fears of having a harness, although he is getting there with a lead onto his collar, everything to be done slowly and carefully, giving him time and space to adjust, realise he is safe. He needs a couple of options of dog beds in different places, not to have anything asked of him at all - VERY important, so he has choices to come to you if he wants to as an example, no walks for quite a few weeks, so sniffy things, some downtime etc. in the garden. He needs to know he can come to you when he is ready, be touched all over when he is able to cope, and then walks in very quiet areas, perhaps rent a field to start with because everything is going to feel overwhelming and panicking to start with. To feel safe, able to rest, eat 3 meals a day and have chews, bones etc. is all he needs and could cope with at the beginning.

It is important to remember that any behaviour is communication, so listening to him yawning, or lip licking etc. is important. If he ever grumbled then you change what you are doing in response and never tell him off because ultimately he is telling you he is scared and fear always needs to be understood and listened to. Once he has had time to settle, adjust and trust he really shows his lovely side.  He can get stressed in or around the car so lots of patience and short spells of training with this. This is also another reason he must live somewhere quiet. If there was lots of traffic he would get very stressed.

He loves toys and playing in the field and loves treats. He also loves rolling around in wet grass (his fave thing to do).

We’ve been unable to get him to the vets so isn’t neutered yet (with advice from the behaviourist until he’s fully recovered), vaccinations need to be restarted. He’s flea and worm treated and microchipped.

Willow

Sex:    Female

Age :   1 year 7 months

Breed: Greyhound

Dog Friendly :  Yes

Cat Friendly: No

Kids : No

Neutered :  Will be

Vaccinations:  Yes

Info:

Willow is a young greyhound that has not had the best start.  She is currently in foster and is loving in the home but takes a while to bond with you and trust you.  She is extremely nervous out and about. She hasn’t seen much and is learning that not everything is scary.

She is good on the lead but will try to flee when she is scared of noises or things that she is unsure of around her.   For this reason she must not be let off lead.  Willow needs another friendly, confident resident dog as a companion to give her confidence both inside and outside the home.  However due to her nervous and skittish nature an older dog would find her too much.

She is crate trained and is used to being left for short periods but definitely needs someone who is around most of the day (not just during Covid). She likes to be with you and would need a home where she is allowed access to all areas as she likes to sleep in the same room, and sometimes,  if feeling insecure will get on the bed for a cuddle. She needs an experienced owner who is in it for the long haul who will be willing to work with her to help her confidence grown and who has patience to work at her speed to help her learn.

Due to her nervousness she needs a child free home. She also needs a very secure garden with high fencing. She is not cat trained. She will also need spaying after her season.

Home check and adoption fee apply.
