About us

Welcome to Skylor’s Animal Rescue. We are a small passionate foster based dog rescue, non profit and run by a family of 3. Dogs are mostly in foster homes with families and not in one place so please respect that you can not just drop by to see our dogs.

We rescue dogs from the pound unwanted and abandoned, pets who can no longer stay with their family and ex racing greyhounds straight from the track. We also help rescue and reunite dogs to their owners.

Viewing is by appointment only.  Please note you cannot turn up without an appointment.

Our hours are :

Tuesday to Saturday 10am till 4pm

CLOSED Sunday and Monday

Thank you / Diolch yn fawr

Could you volunteer? Whether it be dog walking, fundraising or fostering. We're always in need of your help.

Weekday walkers. Mornings preferably. Unfortunately we can’t take on anyone under 18 years old and you must have experience with dogs, especially larger breeds.

December 2022
On 3rd December Halle and Cal kickstarted their 'marathon' To raise money for Skylor finishing on Sunday 4th December.  They were amazing and were joined by some of the Skylor dogs for their last mile round Chester Racecourse ending in Alexander's Live bar.
It is not too late to donate please click on the link below to support this amazing pair who have given up their time and made a huge effort to raise money, which is so greatly appreciated. The total amount so far is £1075.00  - please show your support and click here
November 2022
Foster Puppy - Eve
Eve is an XL bully puppy who has been in foster.  She is now 8 months old.  She has a deformity to her right leg and is being referred to a specialist vet for a consultation on the best options for her foot - however the op is going to be expensive. We know it’s a really bad time right now for everyone but your help will go along way even £1.  Please click here to donate
October 2022
A couple of our supporters Halle and Cal from Alexander's Live Bar, Rufus Court, Chester CH1 2JW are very kindly raising money for us by running 1 mile every hour, on the hour over 24 hours.
All donations are greatly appreciated! We understand that times are hard but this is a great undertaking and an amazing generous thing for them to do.   If you would still like to help but are unable to donate, please share this link via any platforms possible. Secondly, if anybody would like to join in the challenge, we invite anybody to donate £5 to join them on a mile at any time throughout the 24 hours. This can be done at home or alongside them in Chester.

We are looking for a couple of volunteers to help us at Skylor’s. Someone who can start at 8am 3/4 days a week. Cleaning, feeding and exercising our dogs on our field. This is just in the mornings. Message us if you can help. Dobshill, Flintshire.
Sponsoring a long term foster

Reggie our Rottie boy is still with us. Unfortunately we don’t feel we will ever find him a loving new home that can help him with his issues. So unless we can find a perfect sanctuary for him, he will be staying with us forever and will be planning on getting him a great new kennel for him to enjoy.

We have 2 forever foster dogs. Dooby a Jack Russell who is with the amazing Carl & Yvonne and Bertie 15 years old who is with amazing Julia & Meirion. They will both be living out their days with both couples.

We also took in a very lovely XL bully puppy from her breeder. Only 8 weeks old with a deformity to her front right leg. We are now looking into different options for her. Be it a prosthetic leg, management with a padded boot or total amputation. As she grows we will know what will be best for her as we need to take care of her left front leg. She will not be up for rehoming until we have decided what will be best for her so is being fostered and well looked after.

If you would like to sponsor one of our long term fosters or make a donation towards their ongoing care every penny would be gratefully  received.
